Iris Cendre manages to hover deftly in the middle, perhaps leaning a touch earthy. But it retains the coziness of a more powdery iris and pairs beautifully with a dry, yet mild tobacco. It makes you feel as if you've just put on your softest wool (or alpaca, angora, cashmere) sweater, ready for a good book and a warm cuppa.
