The Genera is a 10mil single ply with the fat spread of a double ply. A 2mil overtone control ring on the underside controls excessive overtones, promotes a shorter sound, and equalizes tuning. Additional dry vents in the edge of the drumhead let the snare drum sound drier (and deliver the dry snare sound).
